About Ulas Cikla
Dr. Ulas Cikla, MD, is a University of Florida assistant professor of neurosurgery and a neurosurgeon at UF Health in Jacksonville specializing in cerebrovascular neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery, and skull base surgery.
Dr. Cikla’s clinical practice involves the treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, including subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracranial bleeding, and acute stroke. His expertise extends to brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, complex dural arteriovenous fistulas, carotid-cavernous fistulas, carotid artery stenosis/occlusion, and intracranial vessel stenosis/occlusion. Additionally, he performs surgeries for brain tumors such as meningiomas, skull base tumors, cerebral metastases, gliomas, and glioblastomas. His practice also encompasses surgeries for spinal tumors and vascular malformations, as well as treatments for various spinal and cranial trauma.

Dr. Cikla has authored more than 75 peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters, with his work appearing in prominent neurosurgery journals, including Journal of Neurosurgery, World Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Journal of Neuroimmunology, Neurosurgical Focus, Scientific Reports – Nature, among others. His research interests focus on outcomes in the management of brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, cerebral bypass, and carotid artery dissection, as well as microsurgical training in neurosurgery. Dr. Cikla has also served as co-director, faculty, and invited instructor in more than 25 neurosurgical courses delivered in the U.S.
